Kevin Spease grew up in Elk Grove and served 14 years in the Army National Guard and United States Air Force. After receiving an honorable discharge, Spease returned to Elk Grove to start a small business with his wife. He has been an active leader in the community, serving as an Elk Grove planning commissioner and also as president of the Rotary Club of Laguna Sunrise. Spease also volunteers with various nonprofits and charities, including the Elk Grove Food Bank and Sacramento County Veterans Treatment Court.

In less than 11 months, Elk Grove voters will select their mayor and council representatives for Districts 1 and 3. Councilmembers Darren Suen and Kevin Spease have purchased ads in the 2024 Elk Grove Town Planner calendar, although as yet they have no challengers. Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, also on the ballot, did not purchase calendar space.

Although he hasn’t made a formal announcement, by filing California Form 501, Elk Grove Vice Mayor Kevin Spease has documented his intent to seek another four-year term as District 3’s council rep.
