This week, the Nevada County Fish and Wildlife Commission opened the 2024/2025 grant proposals period for projects that protect, conserve, propagate, and/or preserve fish and wildlife resources in the County. A total of $7,500 in grant funding is available. The deadline to submit proposals is Nov. 30, 2024.
Truckee Town Hall is open for voting. The Town Hall vote center at 10183 Truckee Airport Road is where residents may vote, request replacement ballots, register to vote and ask questions about the voting process.Â
The Nevada County Board of Supervisors met on Oct. 8 to discuss significant developments, including the Joint Powers Agreement for the new Truckee Library and an appeal regarding a proposed mixed-use development.
Ballots will be mailed by Monday, Oct. 7 for the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election.

David Garcia is Nevada County's new public works director starting Sept. 1. Garcia, who started with the County in 2007, has worked on public works programs in Nevada County for 15 years, most recently as the County's solid waste program manager.
