Have a desire to watch a kelp forest, or some moon jellies, or some otters, or sharks, or birds? Not a problem thanks to these amazing live webcams.
The gentle waving back and forth of the kelp forest has entranced visitors since the aquarium opened. Monterey Bay Aquarium/YouTube
Since opening in October 1984, the Monterey Bay Aquarium has introduced two million visitors a year to the creatures who make their home in the ocean.
In addition to being one of the most magnificent public aquariums in the world, it is also a premiere marine research institution and environmental advocate. It was instrumental in the establishment of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in 1992, and established Seafood Watch in 1999 to promote sustainable fishing practices.
The aquarium is well worth a visit, but if you can't make the trip, they've found a way to bring the aquarium to you via ten live streaming webcams. Each webcam features a different aquarium exhibit, such as the kelp forest and ocean habitat tanks, the resident sea otters and jellies, and of course, sharks galore. Be sure to tune in for the daily live feedings with staff narration.
Enjoy the Monterey Bay Aquarium live webcams.
