Elected by the voters of San Benito County every four years, the superintendent of schools administers the operation of the Office of Education, which provides services to county elementary and secondary school districts.
Krystal Lomanto won reelection to another four years in June of 2018. The San Benito County native and mother of two says on her LinkedIn page, “I am passionate about ensuring that all students are provided with an outstanding educational opportunity. The San Benito County Office of Education believes that every student, no matter his or her circumstances must have access to a quality education in order to thrive.”
First elected: June 3, 2014
Alma maters: Grand Canyon University (master’s degree, urban education and leadership); California State University, Fresno (bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and biology)
Other positions held: Board member on the Hollister Rotary and San Benito United Way.
