This committee serves as a communication channel between city employees, the community, the city manager, and the equal employment opportunity coordinator on equal opportunity employment concerns. It acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to equal opportunity employment.
The nine committee members are appointed as follows: two city residents appointed by the City Council; one department director appointed by the city manager; three employee representatives appointed by the city manager; and three representatives from employee organizations.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Committee meets quarterly, on the first Thursday of March, June, September and December, at 1:30 p.m.
