The Police Department is managed by the chief of police, who reports to the city manager. The department is divided into two divisions: Operations includes uniformed staff—patrol officers and traffic enforcement. Administration oversees investigates and records. The department—94 sworn officers and 25 non-sworn civilian staff—serves a population of 63,789 residents in a city of 12.7 square miles. The city is divided into five patrol beats: West, East, Beach, Central, and Downtown.
