The top vote-getter in the 2020 election, Sally Meadows has lived in Los Altos for 24 years. On her campaign site, Meadows says, “I treasure the charm and warmth of our town and its neighborhoods and have spent the past decade dedicated to serving our community.” From her service on city commissions, she saw government in action. She chose to run for City Council “because we need experienced and commonsense leaders who have a vision for Los Altos today and also accept responsibility and stewardship for tomorrow.”

First Elected: November 2020

Day job: Pharmaceutical/biotech marketing executive (retired)

Other positions held: Los Altos Planning Commission, 2016-2020 (chair, 2017-2018); Design Review Commission, 2012-2016 (chair, 2012-2013); El Camino Hospital Community Advisory Council, co-chair, 2010-2012

Notable quote: “These are people who are part of our community already, but they can’t live here. ... It’s really not an inclusive community and we don’t get the full choice of people who want to work here because they have to drive so far to do it.” —Quoted by Daily Post
