Love Ripon

Love Ripon is a small event that makes a big differences. In this city with fewer than 20,000 residents, more than 500 volunteers come together for an annual day of service.

Love Ripon holds an annual event every April, during which volunteers participate in a variety of projects that address community needs. Volunteer efforts are greatly appreciated, and people are even allowed to suggest projects where they see a need. Services are then provided for free—be it beautifying an entire school or just fixing up a backyard.

Love Ripon fosters a tight-knit community where residents can depend on one another. Its partner is the national group Love Our Cities, which began in 2007 with the mission to start city-wide volunteer days while networking and collaborating with fellow city leaders.

Love Ripon may be just a one-day event, but the energy it generates has created a year-round impact. When people experience the joy that comes from helping others, they just might want to keep it up for the whole year.
