El Concilio California

El Concilio got its start with a $10,000 grant from the Catholic Diocese. That money was used as a foundation to build an organization to help migrant workers with immigration and social welfare issues. El Concilio has widened its focus with other programs geared toward low-income individuals.

The organization specifically helps those who have social and mental issues or physical barriers that prevent them from obtaining services. But people of any ages, including families, can seek help from El Concilio for guidance in obtaining counseling, referrals, and education.

El Concilio is committed to empowering San Joaquin County's marginalized communities by providing them with the services they need to realize their potential, offering different methods of outreach, engagement, counseling, and job training that build upon individual strengths and abilities.

The organization’s wide range of programs includes preschool centers, a behavioral health and wellness center, assistance for families and children, legal help for immigrants and seniors, reentry services, job training, and transportation services.
