DONATE

Stockton 209 Cares is a nonprofit that supports those experiencing homelessness. Volunteers participate in neighborhood cleanups and help less fortunate children celebrate holiday traditions.

The organization was founded in 2015 by Nancy Lamb, a woman who previously experienced homelessness herself and wanted to make a change. Stockton 209 Cares participates in homeless outreaches that involve distributing food, clothing, shoes, and other necessities to individuals and families in need.

The group also hosts an annual backpack event before the back-to-school season with free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts and shoes donated to children. Donors can sponsor students for $250. In another education-related program, the organization gives scholarships to high school seniors.

Stockton 209 Cares especially emphasizes the magic of the holidays, organizing Easter, Christmas, and Trunk or Treat festivities for children and families who are experiencing homelessness or struggling financially. There is usually a toy drive in the months leading up to Christmas so children can receive toys for the holidays.
