San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit that partners with and supports both Hispanic and non-Hispanic local businesses.

SJCHCC was first established in 1972, and it was initially known as the Stockton Mexican American Chamber of Commerce.

Currently, the organization collaborates with 300 members. Most of them are owners of small businesses. The chamber helps individuals start businesses, develop business plans, and build networks. Member can attend several annual workshops and events.

There are eight signature annual events, each happening in a different month, and also monthly networking mixers. Events include the business forecast conference in January, the Latina business conference in March, the small business and entrepreneurial expo in April, the golf tournament in May, the business awards and installation luncheon in June, the business procurement expo in September, and the student financial aid and college awareness workshop in October.

The organization is also actively involved in public policy and advocacy. The Government Relations Committee and Board of Directors works closely with elected officials at the local, state, regional and federal levels of government. The committee tracks public policy issues that would be relevant to members and businesses, and keeps members informed.
