The Institute for Wildlife Studies is dedicated to conserving wildlife, habitats, and biodiversity.

The mission of the Institute for Wildlife Studies is to research various animals and environments throughout the state of California and work to maintain biodiversity. The ultimate goal is to ensure all species continue to not only survive but also thrive. The group also works to further understand the animals we share our local world with and to educate others.

Extinctions of many animal species are occurring at a concerning pace. Human beings often seem unwilling to alter their lifestyles to protect vulnerable animal populations, and it’s getting too late to turn things around for some species. While there are many environmental groups focusing on the short term, IWS is researching and taking action for the long term. Numerous funding agencies have come in to assist IWS in meeting its goals on behalf of animals throughout the Golden State.
