South Side Community Organization of Tracy

The goal of this neighborhood organization is to evolve to meet the needs of Tracy residents.

For the Southside Community Organization of Tracy, meeting needs could mean practical help like food and clothing, and also cultural and recreational opportunities that round out a healthy community. It is a small organization—there is no official website and most news is spread through Facebook—but it has a passionate board of directors and a desire to do good.

In the fall, the organization holds a coat drive for anyone in need at Tracy’s Guadalupe Center. Free jackets and other winter items are distributed to those who are lacking.

The Guadalupe Center itself works closely with this organization, from offering space for mariachi concerts to serving as a popular destination for birthday parties and other special gatherings of community members.

Southside Community Organization of Tracy also hosts cultural events like Mexican Independence Day, with the ultimate goal of reaching out to Tracy's large Latino population.
