Community of Writers

Community of Writers brings together poets and prose writers for workshops, individual conferences, lectures, panels, readings, and discussions of the craft and the business of writing. Its aim is to assist writers of refining their craft through mutual support.

It seems as if artisans, performers, writers, and creative types of every kind tend to gravitate to Tahoe, where they can hone their craft in a natural environment that oozes inspiration for imagination and innovation. Therefore, for almost 50 years the Community of Writers (based in Olympic Valley) have brought together all types of poets and prose writers to participate in summertime workshops full of conferences, panels, lectures, and readings specific to their writing style.

Held at the base of the famed ski resort in Olympic Valley below the peaks of KT-22 and Granite Chief, this unique event brings together fellow authors to get support and encouragement from bestselling authors and poets, as well as some of the tools they need to finally finish that book they started but might have gotten stuck on.

To attend the summer workshops, applications are usually due in by the end of March; financial aid is available.
