San Joaquin County Mosquito and Vector Control District Overview

This government entity was originally called the Northern San Joaquin County Mosquito Abatement District but the name changed in 1993 to the San Joaquin County Mosquito and Vector Control District. Its primary responsibility is to manage mosquito populations to reduce the risk of viral transmissions to humans, horses and other animals throughout San Joaquin County. Through vector surveillance and control services, it enhances public health and quality of life for residents.
