This local chapter is part of the Vietnam Veterans of America, a national organization that aims to improve the lives of soldiers who served in uniform during this long and divisive war.
A congressionally chartered national organization, VVA was founded in 1978 and received its congressional charter in 1986.
VVA Chapter 201 received its national charter in 1988. It advocates to improve benefits and services available to veterans, including support of proposed favorable federal, state, or local legislation; development of local proposals to improve the quality of life of veterans, especially in the areas of employment, education, training, and health; and assistance to disabled veterans and veterans in distress.
