The nonprofit group Sentencing Alternatives Programs, Inc. (SAP) offers adult and minor offenders the opportunity to perform unpaid community services work as an alternative to a fine and/or jail sentence. 

The purpose of the program is to place adult and minor offenders in volunteer situations where they can give back to the community. Sentencing alternatives benefit both individuals and the community, allowing clients to develop and expand job skills and make new connections. The court can refer a client to SAP, or clients can request community service as an alternative sentence.
