Alum Rock Counseling Center aims to address the academic, social and mental health needs of at-risk youth and families living in East San Jose. The center helps youths reach their full potential through educational assistance, individual and family counseling, building activities and more.
ARCC was founded in 1974 by community members who wanted to assure that all young people could achieve their full potential. Understanding that many predominantly Spanish-speaking individuals in East San Jose were “falling through the cracks” in accessing education and health care, they created ARCC to foster a healthier and safer environment for local families.
ARCC’s guiding principles are:
\Working along these guidelines, ARCC offers services and support for all ages. Programs include Prevention & Early Intervention and Deep Intervention & Recovery.
