Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI) is the only public-access glass-working facility in Santa Clara County. BAGI brings glass lovers in Silicon Valley together through hands-on experiences that educate and inspire them to connect with their creative side.

When BAGI was founded in 1996, the organization had three main goals: educate the public about glass art, provide an affordable studio for those who are interested, and host events that bring the community together to exchange ideas and network. BAGI offers these classes and services:

  • Discover Glass introduces students to glass making.
  • Glassblowing immerses individuals in the basics of traditional free-form glass blowing.
  • Flameworking classes cover either soft glass and borosilicate glass techniques.
  • Fusing/Kiln Working provides an in-depth foundation in fusing arts.
  • Cold Working instructs students how to grind, smooth, and polish glass.
  • Private lessons yield one-on-one instruction.
  • Rentals offer private glass studio facilities.

With its various programs, BAGI serves more than 10,000 every year.
