Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition promotes bicycling as a way to support a healthy and environmentally friendly community in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
SVBC’s overarching goal is to see 10 percent of all trips taken by bike by 2025. To reach this goal, the coalition offers various programs: Safe Routes to School, Corporate Commute Workshops, Social Rides, Bike Education and others. These programs seek to improve the trail system and educate children on proper safety precautions.
SVBC hosts various events, including the annual Silicon Valley Bike Summit, the Bike to the Future ride, and Bike to Wherever Days, held during the month of May to promote cycling as a means of transportation that is good for the individual and the environment.
