San Jose Jazz promotes jazz through education, initiatives and festivals. They work with high schoolers and produce summer band camps to provide early jazz education. SJJ also works with low income children to expose them to music through education. They hold a summer and winter festival each year. SJJ runs Boomboz Truck that works as a mobile live music stage. In 2019 they started Do You Know San Jose, a mobile concert series. Since March 2020 they have been working on a program called Live From Home that provides lived stream music to your home in the time of COVID-19.
