A District 2 resident since 1986, Mike Flaugher first joined the authority as a member of the Citizen Advisory Committee in 2012 before being elected to the board in 2014. He is active with the the Berryessa Citizens Advisory Council and Berryessa Business Association and has also served on the San Jose Parks Commission, Santa Clara County Park & Recreation Volunteer Coordinating Committee, and Bay Area Ridge Trail Council.

The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority teamed up with the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area to raise awareness of the importance of irreplaceable landscapes at a community celebration in Morgan Hill.
The money comes from the State Coastal Conservancy’s $84 million in grants to protect and restore coastal lands, and increase resilience to climate change.
