VOLUNTEER DONATE
Thriving Pink provides a network of support and resources in partnership with the community to help those in Yolo County impacted by breast cancer.
The organization helps local residents affected by breast cancer thrive with a vision statement that “no one goes through breast cancer alone.” Thriving Pink operates on four core values: open and honest feedback and continuous improvement; harnessing the power of the community to educate, mentor, serve and celebrate; commitment to personal relationships, embracing positivity and peer mentorship; and demonstrating a spirit of volunteerism centered on friendship, caring, respect and inclusivity.
Supported by its Pink Team, which includes those diagnosed with breast cancer, community leaders, business owners and health professionals, the nonprofit comprises three primary programs: Granting Pink, Mentoring Pink and Partnering Pink.
Granting Pink provides financial grants to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer who lives in Yolo County and has not received a prior grant from the organization, with applications to be filled out by the recipient or another representative. Mentoring Pink offers services and programs from the initial time of diagnosis through all phases of survivorship, including workshops, peer-to-peer connections, Saturday morning walks, a post-treatment renewal retreat, comfort bags, and an office and community room. Partnering Pink includes community partners, who consist of local businesses, organizations and individuals.
As a volunteer-based organization, the nonprofit is dependent on community support and the dedication of its sponsors, some of whom include Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente and Golden Arch Enterprises. Individuals or businesses can become pink partners by donating online.
