Computers 4 Kids represents a thriving partnership where commerce, community, education and technology come together to meet the needs of disenfranchised individuals.
In operation since 2010, Computers 4 Kids aims to provide computers and internet access for youth and adults in the greater Sacramento region to promote successful educational outcomes and productive lives.
The organization offers a variety of technical services for hardware and software and phones and tablets, in addition to having hardware for sale. It also offers help with applying to the Affordable Connectivity Program, an FCC benefit program that provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.
Computers 4 Kids accepts donations of electronics, which will be wiped of personal information and recycled to limit electronic waste. Individuals can also apply for a volunteer, work-study or internship position to get involved.
