Yolo County Democratic Party

The Yolo County Democratic Party lobbies for change in favor of Democratic policy and encourages residents to vote.

The Yolo County Democratic Party is made up of individuals serving both locally and nationally on behalf of the Democratic Party. This currently includes four state legislators and four members of Congress. Those living in Yolo County can become actively involved by partnering with one of eight standing committees: 

• Campaign Committee—This committee connects with other Democrats and neutral residents through door-to-door and table campaign promotion and other avenues to get the word out about upcoming candidates on the ballot.
• Endorsement and Candidate Development Committee—This is a recruitment committee that finds local candidates.
• Budget & Finance Committee—This committee develops the annual budget and coordinates fundraisers. 
• Legislation & Resolutions Committee—This committee oversees the endorsement process and participates in candidate engagement. 
• Party Development & Outreach Committee—Similar to the Campaign Committee, this committee gets the word out and educates the public.
• Rules Committee—This committee ensures compliance and fairness within the party actions and activities.
• Communications Committee—This committee is the voice of the local party and communicates announcements and updates.
• Fundraising Committee—This committee raises the finances necessary for a successful win for a candidate’s Democratic seat both locally and nationally.

The Yolo County Democratic Party is not just active during presidential election years; volunteers and support are welcome year-round, no matter what the calendar year is.
