The Yolo County Library Foundation was founded in December 2016 to support the Yolo County Library system, which is composed of eight branches.

The YCLF provides funds to the Yolo County Library to promote educational programs and recreational activities and improve literary skills. The foundation’s funding priorities are varied. The first is to improve early childhood literacy. The foundation accomplishes this by providing free reading materials to parents, and literacy training. The foundation funded the library’s digital Tumblebook Library, which allows parents and young children to access books 24/7.

Second is the Early Literacy Toolkit. The foundation funds print and digital resources that make up the Toolkit to ensure young children are prepared for school. The third priority is the library’s summer and winter reading programs, and the final priority is English language learning. The foundation expands funding for Yolo County Library’s English conversation clubs, English classes, and the Yolo Reads Adult and Family Literacy Program.
