Davis Community Meals and Housing

Davis Community Meals and Housing is a Christian nonprofit that was established in 1990.

The nonprofit’s mission is to provide assistance to low-income and unhoused individuals and families. Its various programs include emergency shelter and transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, resource centers, day shelters, pathways to employment, and street outreach.

The Transitional Housing Program for Adult Men and Women accommodates 14 men and two women and allows individuals to stay for up to 18 months. During that time, the program provides food and shelter, counseling, addiction recovery, education and vocational training, and other services to help individuals build their lives back up. Davis Community Meals and Housing also runs New Pathways, a transitional/bridge housing service for the chronically unhoused. New Pathways works with four individuals at a time to improve health, economic status, employment, and quality of life. The organization also offers apartments or homes at various Davis locations for five homeless families with children, for up to 24 months maximum. Individuals who are part of the New Pathways, transitional housing or shelter programs are eligible to take part in an additional Pathways to Employment Program, which trains five individuals at a time.

The nonprofit’s Resource Center and Day Shelter, open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., provides hot showers, hygiene products, transportation arrangements, mail service, and other basic necessities.
