Shores of Hope is a West Sacramento-based nonprofit that provides four primary services: transitional housing, outreach, child development, and transportation.
Shores of Hope’s child development programs provide educational opportunities for children aged 3-5 from income-eligible families. Since 2016, classrooms are fully inclusive of special needs children.
The nonprofit also offers transitional housing for homeless families, children transitioning out of foster care, domestic violence victims, and human trafficking victims. During their stay, individuals can receive assistance with job search, permanent housing search, and substance abuse treatment.
Shores of Hope’s transportation services support individuals with disabilities, driving them to outpatient care and other day programs. The organization partners with the Alta Regional Center, where drivers pick up clients with disabilities for employment and recreational programs. Shores of Hope also offers transportation to mothers with young children who are a part of the John H. Jones Perinatal Substance Abuse Treatment Program. Mothers participate in substance abuse treatment while children attend child development programs.
The organization also runs a community food closet.
