American Legion Yolo Post 77

American Legion Yolo Post 77 is a veterans service organization serving Yolo County since 1919.

American Legion Yolo Post 77 is a chapter of the nationwide American Legion, which aims to serve veterans through support, friendship, and practical life resources. The American Legion is the largest wartime veteran organization in the U.S., and the Yolo chapter is active and thriving with veterans from multiple wars from Korea to Desert Storm and beyond.

American Legion Yolo Post 77 steps in during times of crisis to provide assistance to its members, and it also mentors young people who need to see positive examples of living a patriotic life that spans generations. The legion also serves as an advocate for veterans who need help finding employment, healthcare, housing, and friendship.

The American Legion’s motto is “Veterans Strengthening America.”

Locally, the Yolo chapter supports various groups including Woodland Girls Fastpitch Softball, Yolo Youth Library, the Woodland High School Wrestling Team, Scout Troop 68, the National Child Safety Council, the Boys & Girls State Program, as well as supplying scholarships and school awards.

Anyone who is active military or a veteran is welcome to join the legion, and families of these brave men and women can get involved as well.
