VFW West Sacramento Post 8762 fosters camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts.
VFW West Sacramento Post 8762 is a chapter of the nationwide Veterans of Foreign Wars organization, founded in 1899. The ultimate vision of the group is to “ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.”
West Sacramento foreign war veterans can join this organization to receive support, create like-minded friendships, and learn how to navigate the world in healthy ways while serving others. This VFW post also specializes in veteran services and is home to Veterans Services Officers (VSOs) who provide free guidance for navigating the Veterans Administration.
VSOs can review documents, provide advice, and walk veterans through every step of the process to get the benefits they rightly deserve. VSOs are trained to help veterans from all branches of the military.
VFW West Sacramento Post 8762 also holds regular events and fundraisers, such as cookouts and golf tournaments, and the hall is rented out to various community organizations to help serve the local community.
