This nonprofit trust was founded in 1998 to protect rangeland in California. It has conserved more than 340,000 acres that support livestock, wildlife, and rural communities.

According to the group’s Facebook page, more than 784 square miles of open landscapes—about the size of Los Angeles and San Diego combined—were converted to industry and housing over a ten-year span. The trust helps safeguard rangelands all around the state.
