The Nonprofit Alliance of Monterey County was founded in 1994 by leaders of nonprofits to advocate for local philanthropic organizations. NAMC helps community-based groups develop leaders, build strategies, and generate resources.

With 100 members, the alliance hosts forums, seminars, and workshops on such topics as media relations, intergenerational workplace, HR issues, networking, and diversity and social equity.
