Senior citizens are often the most financially vulnerable segment of our community. Founded in 1985, Legal Services for Seniors offers free legal advice to low-income people ages 60 and over, the only non-profit law firm in Monterey County to do so.

Over the years, LSS’s attorneys, most of whom are bilingual, have provided confidential counseling to more than 85,000 seniors in the area on such topics as elder abuse, Social Security, Medicare/Medi-Cal, tenants rights, real estate, limited conservatorships, wills and identity theft. There is no income limit to qualify for help.

In addition to regular services, LSS also hosts community presentations at low-income housing complexes, senior residential facilities, fairs, Rotary Clubs, and churches. And in addition to its two offices in Salinas and Seaside, LSS also has outreach locations in Southern Monterey County, Northern Monterey County, and on the Peninsula.
