Placer County increases fines
From Nov. 1 to May 1, on-street parking is prohibited in most areas around the Tahoe Basin and in Truckee for snow removal operations. Parking on the street could result in hefty fines, with Placer County recently increased its fines from $150 for a first offense to $450 for a third offense.
This includes parking in residential neighborhoods and along unofficial snow play areas on highways. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed and fined or towed.
Avoid a fine
It’s easy to avoid a fine but not parking on streets and highways around Tahoe. If you’re a visitor or vacation homeowner, here’s some simple tips:

In accordance with provisions of the election laws of the State of California, the Placer County Elections Office gives notice that, on Nov. 6 at 10 a.m., the office will randomly select precincts and batches for a manual tally of no less than one percent (1%) of the precincts casting ballots at the November 5, 2024 General Election. This random selection of precincts and batches is open to the public at 3715 Atherton Road in Rocklin.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – Last week California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) discovered golden mussels that could significantly damage the ecology of waterbodies in the Bay-Delta near Stockton, California. Lake Tahoe is now on high alert, according to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA). It is the first time the species has been detected in North America.

Kelly said Trump called the graves of America's war dead "suckers" and "losers". Trump told General Kelley he didn't want to be seen with amputee veterans because "it doesn't look good for me." Kelly went on, Trump said "I need the kind of Generals Hitler had... Hitler did some good things." For that Trump called Kelly "dumb" and a "lowlife". I know you are but what am I?
