Voters on Election Day battled the snow to cast their votes and preliminary results have three incumbents holding onto their Town Council seats.

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District is often portrayed as the golden goose. Some, however, are frustrated by the airport’s eagerness to fund community projects at the expense of internal improvements. A dividing line has emerged between the aviation-minded and the community-minded, and the makeup of the district board could shift in this November’s elections.

The Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival Committee recently defended its need to receive funding to continue to offer an annual free air show. The airport has yet to make a decision on the 2022 air show.

Fallen trees, a damaged window, and other costs stemming from a plane crash on July 26 are now being assessed by the Truckee Tahoe Airport District Board. The airport has reached out to the plane owner’s insurance company on behalf of local homeowners.
