Councilmember Donald Terry


Prior to becoming vice mayor, Donald Terry represented the city of Rancho Cordova on the Sacramento City Unified School District board. He was instrumental in the prevention of closing a local elementary school, and continues to dedicate his time campaigning for measures that benefit education. He has volunteered through the Big Brothers of Sacramento program, and even once camped out atop a marquee in Sacramento until enough volunteers were recruited for the program. His commitment to the youth and families in Rancho Cordova have made him a popular public servant. 


First elected: December 2012


Alma mater: University of California, Davis (bachelor’s degree, political science; minor, community relations) 


Council assignments include: Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, Building Industry Association Subcommittee, Folsom Cordova Unified School District, Sacramento City Unified School District, Elk Grove Unified School District, Sacramento Metro Cable Commission (ex-officio)
