Shelters to be installed across county and cities of Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, Sacramento

Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) recently announced several grant awards, totaling more than $105 million, that will benefit Sacramento commuters, public transit riders and the environment.

Leadership and key staff from the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) officially celebrated the acceptance of nearly $77 million in federal grant funding Wednesday morning during a special event attended by state officials, and dignitaries from Sacramento County. The gathering, held at McClellan Business Park, marked the beginning of SacRT’s ambitious push toward a zero-emission future and the creation of the region’s first hydrogen fuel infrastructure.

The Sacramento Regional Transit District is pleased to announce that the California State Transportation Agency has awarded SacRT $29 million in grant funding through the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program.

Sacramento Regional Transit announced the addition of weekend service on Folsom Stage Line bus route F10, providing "more opportunities for convenient travel around the city." Weekend service began August 18 with stops along Madison and Main avenues across the river up in unincorporated Orangevale, staff said.

Starting the August 18 SacRT is making significant improvements to bus service in Folsom to serve the community better.

The city of Folsom is studying a “high-capacity” public transit bus route to connect new medical centers in Folsom Ranch to Light Rail.

The Sacramento Regional Transit District’s new low-floor trains are in the final testing phase, bringing the region closer to more accessible public transit.
