Kristen Spears has served as assessor since 2008. She joined the Assessor’s Office in 1997 as an auditor appraiser, and later worked under Assessor Bruce Dear prior to her appointment to assessor in 2008. She was re-elected in 2010, 2014 and 2018. Spears and her husband raised their three children in Placer County. She is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento (bachelor’s degree, business administration with a concentration in accountancy).
