Tracy Earth Project

Tracy Earth Project is a nonprofit organization located in the city of Tracy that promotes environmental sustainability.

The 501(c)(3) organization educates and encourages local residents to engage in environmentally friendly behavior, including reducing, recycling, and reusing. The group’s mission is to help maintain communities that will last for generations to come and get community members involved in activities that promote sustainability.

Tracy Earth Project's long-term program investments include planting trees across neighborhoods, creating a community garden, and running a youth bike program to reduce emissions. The Tracy Bike Life Youth Program—a partnership with Tracy Bike Life, the Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin, and Trips for Kids—is a significant part of the organization's initiatives. The program teaches youth aged 6-17 how to maintain and repair bikes, distributes bikes to underserved youth, and promotes biking as an alternative form of transportation. Community members can donate used bikes or funds.

Tracy Earth Project also aims to educate community members, with one recent example being the regenerative gardening workshop. The group’s website also provides information about environmental legislation, how families can get involved with environmental projects, tips on composting, and the history of relevant events such as Earth Day.
