Appointed by the Lodi City Council, the city manager is the administrative head of the city, in charge of directing the daily operations of government. The City Manager’s Office implements the council’s policy directives, and directly oversees the general administrative functions of the city—including financial and budgetary matters, human resources, information technology, and economic cevelopment.

The city manager attends all council meetings, communicates decisions and policies to the general public, oversees department heads, and seeks out new revenue sources for the city.
