The Gilroy Assistance League is a nonprofit organization that promotes the welfare and development of youth in South Santa Clara County through its annual grant cycle.
The Gilroy Assistance League (GALs) holds a Home & Garden Tour each year and uses the proceeds to create grant funding for youth organizations residing in South Santa Clara County. The league also regularly publishes and updates a cookbook that is offered for sale to fund the grants. The cookbooks feature approximately 500 recipes and are sold at the Gilroy Welcome Center and other locations throughout the city. Members also sell the cookbooks.
The grant amounts vary by year and benefit many worthy organizations helping young people. Past grant recipients include Community Solutions, One Heart to Another, Dreampower Horsemanship, Parents Helping Parents, St. Joseph’s Family Center, Gilroy High School Choral Boosters, Las Animas Home and School Club, and J.R. Adams/Myles Brinson Sports Complex.
To partner with GALs as a member, sponsor, donor, or volunteer, contact the league through its official website or Facebook page. Members continue to work, even through the pandemic, to support local youth in positive ways.
