VOLUNTEER DONATE
Fistula Foundation is focused on treating obstetric fistula, a childbirth injury that affects a million women. It funds partners in 20-plus countries in Africa and Asia.
Fistula Foundation works to end the suffering caused by devastating childbirth injuries, because we believe no woman should endure a life of misery simply for trying to bring a child into the world.
We provide treatment to women with devastating childbirth injuries. Fistula and severe perineal tears are most prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, so that’s where we focus our efforts. We provide high-quality, free repair surgery in areas with the greatest need for treatment – at the average cost of $616 per surgery across our network of surgeons. Since 2009, we’ve provided more than 85,000 life-transforming surgeries to women at more than 150 sites in 33 countries across Africa and Asia.
