Silicon Valley Leadership Group is a nonprofit advocacy group of business leaders who operate in Silicon Valley.

Founded in 1978 by David Packard and Hewlett Packard, the Leadership Group aims to strengthen Silicon Valley in the global economy while also improving local quality of life for the benefit of employees, families and communities. Participating companies are diverse, ranging from technology brands and start-ups to civic organizations, accounting for nearly one of every three private-sector jobs in Silicon Valley.

The organization engages on many issues, including the following:

  • San Francisco Bay Area tax measures 
  • Santa Clara sales tax measures 
  • Immigration reform 
  • U.S. Patent and Trademark Office 
  • Electrification of Caltrain
