Jim Beall began his tenure on the Santa Clara Valley Water District Board of Directors in 2022. Born in San Jose, he is a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory and earned a degree in political science from San Jose State University. Beall served on the San Jose City Planning Commission and then, at age 28, became the youngest person ever elected to the San Jose City Council. Since then he has served on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors (1994-2006) and the California Legislature (2006-2020). (For much more, read his biography on the district’s website.)
Beall represents District 4, which includes the city of Campbell, portions of the Willow Glen and Cambrian communities, and North Almaden and Blossom Hill area of San Jose.
