Community Music School believes that music can be life-transforming, and that music helps us to find meaning in our lives
Community Music School believes that music can be life-transforming, and that music helps us to find meaning in our lives. To that end, they seek to engage students in playing music, expand the audience for music performance, and provide a continuum of experiences for young musicians throughout Santa Cruz County. Community Music School hosts workshops, concerts, and summer camps for musicians age 12 and up; maintains a free database of local music teachers, benefiting both teachers and potential students; facilitates a Music Match program, placing donated musical instruments with people or organizations who need them; and publishes a free monthly e-newsletter that lists upcoming concerts and music-related events.
