A 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational organization, MAPS explores the medical, legal, and cultural contexts in which people might benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana.

MAPS, which stands for Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, has been supporting research into psychoactive drugs since 1986. It has explored incorporating these drugs into prescription medicines; training therapists; conducting scientific research into spirituality, creativity, and neuroscience; and analyzing the risks and benefits of psychedelics and marijuana.
