Kuumbwa Jazz provides opportunities in the Santa Cruz area to enjoy and appreciate jazz music through live performance and education.

Founded in 1975, Kuumbwa Jazz has brought the community into the creative presence of internationally acclaimed jazz artists. Presenting more than 130 concerts each year and serving some 1,000 students annually, the organization brings the joy of music to everyone.

After a year and a half, music will once again be heard at Kuumbwa Jazz Center when it reopens on Sept. 13. The club will operate at two-thirds capacity until Oct. 26, just in time for a visit from Branford Marsalis.
