The Educational Partnership Center at UC Santa Cruz increases access to higher education for underrepresented students. The EPC helps students in the region succeed in school and provides opportunities for students to explore different tools and support systems.

EPC’s programs include the following:

  • GEAR UP—Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.
  • Early Academic Outreach Program—A statewide college preparatory program.
  • San Jose Cal-SOAP—Funded by the California Student Aid Commission, California Student Opportunity and Access Program assists low-income and historically underrepresented students and their families in Santa Clara County.
  • TRIO—Promotes higher education among low-income students in east San Jose.
  • Math Engineering Science Achievement—Fosters early interest in math and science.
  • Science Internship Program—A 10-week summer program that engages motivated high school students.
  • California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science—Encourages high school scholars to pursue their interest in STEM.
  • Girls in Engineering—A week-long summer day camp open to girls from Santa Cruz and Monterey counties.
  • Girls Paving the Way—Provides support to middle-school girls in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.
  • California Reading and Literature Project—Standards-based professional development for educators.
