The Sierra Community House was launched right when people needed it the most, providing emergency response and relief services to people in the Lake Tahoe region.
Formed in 2019, its mission is to help stabilize individuals and families in times of uncertainty—an inevitable consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the Sierra Community House was not a new concept when it banded together … it’s actually the culmination of four North Lake Tahoe/Truckee nonprofits: the Family Resource Center of Truckee, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, Project MANA, and the North Tahoe Family Resource Center. Its locations in Kings Beach, Truckee, and Incline Village offer a range of services including hunger relief, crisis intervention, legal services, and family-strengthening tools.
The Sierra Community House provides 24/7 support for residents and their loved ones, and its success rate is shown through the testimonials of the families it has helped—and its recent recognition as a Hometown Hero.
