A nonprofit government agency, Soquel Creek Water District provides water resource management to Aptos, La Selva Beach, Opal Cliffs, Rio Del Mar, Seascape, Soquel, and portions of the city of Capitola. Relying entirely on groundwater, the district serves about 40,400 customers, 90 percent of whom are residential.
